Knitting: Lace Leaf Scarf

Recognise this? It's the Lace Leaf Scarf from Nora at Black Dog Knits. Nora kindly sent me a copy of the pattern in the summer but I wasn't brave enough to try it out til now.

I am using Debbie Bliss Cathay, from the 'lacy wrap' that I started last week. I really like this pattern. It's straightforward and easy to follow. I like it so much so, that I've started to frog the wrap and use the yarn for this project. I'm about 1/2 way there so progress is good. Would definitely recommend it for a first lace project.

My only concern is grafting the two pieces together once they are knit, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Bernie it looks wonderful. I really like the pattern. For grafting, check out http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/basic_techniques/misc.php - scroll down to finishing techiques, then click on the demo for Kitchener stitch (same as grafting). I love this website as I find her demos so easy to understand.

That's beautiful! The yarn looks just right for that pattern.

Oh Bernie, it's beautiful (so much nicer in a plain colour). Don't worry too much about the grafting (it's at the back)!

Now you just need the matching socks (Embossed Leaves by Mona Schmidt). x
