I got an email earlier today from a lady on the island who is a spinner and a member of the local Guild. Yay!
I was so happy I practically burst into song. Although I must admit that I was a bit disappointed with the song choices: firstly the Cher classic, "I found someone", quickly followed by CeCe Peniston's boppy little number, "Finally". (I credit the recent lack of human contact and being 'woo woo' in the head for the unusual song choices.)
Needless to say I'm one step closer to learning to spin on a wheel. I'm very excited about the prospect of meeting a fellow enthusiast and will gratefully receive any help that she can send my way!!

I've just ordered a spindle and some roving and looking forward to trying spinning. I can't do the wheel, it's too hard on my hips. I actually own an antique spinning wheel...ciao
Lucky, you! Someday I'll try a wheel, but I'd better wait until I can afford one, or I might like it too much, and then be sad!
