You've all provided me with some jolly good laughs this week, so thanks for that. Unfortunately nobody delivered the correct answer (sorry for making it so difficult - mwaha haha haha). SO, I'm going to enter EVERYONE WHO ENTERED in the draw for the goodies.

Beading - Pink Stitch Markers **UPDATED 16.07**

EDIT 16.07.07:

THE Beaded stitch markers were sent to Monique, along with some wool, felted soap, a homemade book mark and a packet of fancy hankies, as part of the stitch marker & yarn swap over on crochetholic debbs swap blog.

I was actually Monique's angel as she didn't receive her package. I only hope this made up for her less than perfect swap, especially as she sent me such a lovely package!!

I made these stitch markers for someone special the other day.

The glass/crystal beads are recycled from a candle garland I had from a few years back and the sequins are from the craft room jar!

The small pink pearlescent beads were a freebie with this months Quick & Crafty magazine. I love pink! And to finish it off I threaded a ribbon rose onto the safety pin. I can't reveal who these are for at the moment but I will soon.

Stitch Marker & Yarn Swap - (2)

My pal in the Stitch Marker & Yarn Swap, which was arranged by Debb, was Judy of JAG bag fame!!!

Her package finally arrived across the pond in record 'slow' time. I was beginning to panic as I've sent many packages across to America in recent months and they've barely taken a week. This one took over two!!!

Well, now that everything has arrived safely, I can reveal what I made and sent to Judy:

Clockwise from the top: Fridge Magnet, Eskimo Wool (Garnstudio), Felted Mini Sock, Handmade Stitch Markers, Pouch for Bits'n'bobs, Highlighter pens, and a Scented Sachet.

The blue stitch markers have these little crochet covered beads that I made using embroidery thread/floss, a very small metal crochet hook and some plastic beads from Little Miss CB's stash!

The mini sock was made using odd bits of wool and the pattern from the mini sock blocker kit that I received from my ISE4 pal.

The pouch was made using blue fabric from stash and lined with a ladies hanky - I knew those hankies that I won at the xmas school fair would come in handy one day. And that's why crafters never throw away anything!!!

It's time to breathe a sigh of relief, for now, and start worrying after the package for my ISE4 pal which is still on it's way across the ocean. :)

Stitch Marker & Yarn Swap - goodies arrived

I almost forgot to post a piccie of the goodies that I received today from Monique. I took part in a Stitch Marker & Yarn swap which was arranged by crochetholic Debb. As you can see, I received a couple of balls of lovely cotton/linen yarn, 6 handmade pearlescent & metallic stitch markers in a handmade pouch, some fabric FQs and a handful of bobbins. Thanks again Monique!


I've sent my package to Judy over at JAG bags which she should hopefully receive at the end of this week. Wanna see what I sent? Here are a couple of photos (obviously I had to disguise the contents as we don't want to spoil her fun, now do we?). Once the packet has been received I'll reveal the contents and things that I made:

No theme as we haven't redecorated since we moved to this house. I have a colour scheme in mind using fresh colours such as - blue or turquoise, cream or beige, with a red accent perhaps...

My dislikes:
Vanilla candles - eugh! and rough mohair (the soft and fluffy stuff is ok!)

I have eczema so I can't knit or wear cheap and nasty acrylic although some acrylic/wool blends are ok though.

My kitty, the sweet and lovely mademoiselle Jade. Jade is a rescue cat and is now 4. She is very chatty and playful and has only just this winter started to sit on our knees rather than beside us on the sofa. Yay!

My favorite scents:
Cinnamon, Rosemary, Lavender, Bergamot, Christmas Spices,

Other stuff about me and things I want to learn to do:
I am a chocoholic and adore milk chocolate and praline. Yum yum.

I am a magpie at heart and love beads and shiny objects. I am not afraid to take apart old jewellery if I see beads that I like!

I want to learn how to use a drop spindle and spin some wool this year. Not that I need another hobby but it would be fun to understand how it all works.

I also want to make my first complete pair of socks this year. I had a go last year and quite enjoyed working with the DPNs but I never finished them. Maybe I should invest in a book???

I wish I could go fabric shopping (we don't have a huge selection of fabric shops here on the island). I like to mix different prints and tend to recycle old clothes etc to get the look I want.. If I could go to a large department store or a specialist fabric shop I would buy blue or brown fabric with white or pink polka dots, pink/brown ditsy floral print fabric, and a coordinating stripe fabric in blue/white or red/white.

I love to felt and really need to restock my wool pile. It doesn't have to be expensive wool. As long as it felts I could put it towards a bag or tote. I buy my wool from the local charity shops to keep the cost down. But every now and then I'll treat myself to some lovely wool from knitshop.co.uk.

I collect silk flowers from charity shops and recycle them to make my flower fairies. It would be nice to be buy some silk flower petals rather than taking apart old silk flowers as it can be a dirty and dusty job!

I enjoy making dens with my daughter and I would love to have a cottagey/vintage floral corner in my garden, with fabric buntings and floaty fabrics.

ISE4: Package Arrived! YAY!!!

My ISE4 package arrived today. And boy what a package! I have been truly spoiled!Thank you Tammy from lavendarknits.blogspot.comThe scarf is absolutely perfect and it will get plenty of use. Even Little Miss CB likes it and that's saying something. The colours are just perfect and it drapes beautifully. I hope the photos show how pretty it really is. It was very difficult to capture its true beauty all by myself.

And check out the sock yarn! How much does that rock!!! I have definitely got to make ME a pair of socks now. Stuff the kid - she can make do with her opal yarn!

Basically, I love everything that Tammy has sent me. From the Stitch Markers to the Choccie-Wockey-Doodahs it was a lovely treat. Especially as I have been feeling like cr*p this past week with the dreaded 'lurgy!
