After the recent disaster with our car, the bathroom, various illnesses and unexpected hospitalisations, things look like they're on the up! I've just received an email from the editor of Lets Knit saying that I've won a Hobby Craft Knitting Basket from the giveaways. I never usually win these things so this is a real treat. Can't wait to get my hands on the woolly loveliness!!

Valentines Day Contest on Barkknit.blogspot.com
There's a Valentine's Day Contest over on Gnat's blog.
To enter, you need to leave comment on the Valentine's Contest post about how you and your significant other met and "fell" in love.
You can get additional entries by posting about the contest on your own blog, and for each person who leaves a comment and says that you sent them.

Holiday Softie Awards 2007 - UPDATE
The competition closed last Wednesday and the finalists in each category have now been announced.

Competition: I was making a .....
PATCHWORK SKIRT!
You've all provided me with some jolly good laughs this week, so thanks for that. Unfortunately nobody delivered the correct answer (sorry for making it so difficult - mwaha haha haha). SO, I'm going to enter EVERYONE WHO ENTERED in the draw for the goodies.

Details of the winner will be published sometime between now and Monday 15th October 2007. I will post the results on this thread, together with some pictures of the almost finished skirt (I had sewing machine probs. earlier this week. 'nuff said)

Amigurumi Monkey - Results of Competition

Amigurumi Monkey - Help me name him!
Introducing my Amigurumi Monkey! I used the translated Japanese pattern which is available here. Doesn't he look like a real boy monkey!
I added chenille stems (pipe cleaners) to his arms, legs and tail so they can be posed. The wool is Wendy DK which I used to make the doll adapted from the Crochet Me Amigurumi sprite pattern. Sadly he has no name as we can't agree on names here in Craftybernieland.
So here's the thing. If you fancy a chance to name this little monkey (and win a little giftie for the New Year), leave a comment with your suggestion for a name. You can enter as many times as you like but please enter only one name on each comment.
Shortly after the 31 December 2006 (which is also my birthday by the way, hint hint), I will run a poll with all the suggested names and the winner will be the person who's name receives the most votes. How does that sound? I'm in a giving mood folks so take advantage while you can.... :)
