Introducing my Amigurumi Monkey! I used the translated Japanese pattern which is available here. Doesn't he look like a real boy monkey!
I added chenille stems (pipe cleaners) to his arms, legs and tail so they can be posed. The wool is Wendy DK which I used to make the doll adapted from the Crochet Me Amigurumi sprite pattern. Sadly he has no name as we can't agree on names here in Craftybernieland.
So here's the thing. If you fancy a chance to name this little monkey (and win a little giftie for the New Year), leave a comment with your suggestion for a name. You can enter as many times as you like but please enter only one name on each comment.
Shortly after the 31 December 2006 (which is also my birthday by the way, hint hint), I will run a poll with all the suggested names and the winner will be the person who's name receives the most votes. How does that sound? I'm in a giving mood folks so take advantage while you can.... :)

How neat having a birthday on Dec. 31!
How about Malcolm Monkey? As soon as I saw him, I thought Malcolm (my son) would love that! He's 13, but he's always asking for a pet monkey.
Maybe I should make him one. haha
He looks very cute, by the way!

Bernie,
What a cute guy...you outdid yourself with him and I think he looks just like a "Melvin" or Mel for short!
I forgot to mention that 12-31 is also my Mom's birthday and she's always loved it because she is always sure of a party! An early Happy Birthday to you, dear. :)
Oh Bernie, he is SO cute!!
You should name him Charlie because well, he looks like a Charlie. x
Or... Minus (don't ask!)
Too Cute!!
Oh, what an adorable monkey! Where did you get the pattern from, again? I'd love to make one for my son.
Btw, I think he looks like an Arnold. Something bookish and clever.
Oh he is so cute would love to try and make one for my grand daughter. I think his name should be 'Cheeky' as he looks a cheeky monkey; okay dead obvious and boring I know LOL
He's great Bernie - now what about naming him "Darwin" - after all it was Charles Darwin who thinks we are decendants of the monkey's *lol*
have a great x-mas :)
He is very cute so I thought Monamikey, pronounced mun-amee-kee!!! a sort of japanese sounding mix up of words! Have a great birthday on the 31st!
He's ADORABLE.. I'll have to check out the pattern..
But I so vote for naming him
"Bobby the Boy Monkey"
Hope you feel better!!..
and a Happy Birthday
and a Merry Christmas!!
Take care of yourself.
I say name him Vince! Don't know why, just like it.
Bernie,
I don't know why my original comment came up "anonymous" but I still day Melvin works for me. He sooo looks like a Mel to moi!
